The history of our company
Since 1965, companies from around the world working in the cookie baking sector have counted on our expertise in the manufacture of waffle ovens. It all began in Halle, near Brussels, in the 1960’s, at a time when Acemal specialized in the manufacture of plough bases.
A very unusual order from the maker of Suzy brand waffles changed everything: They challenged us to develop new oven equipment based around their specific requirements. Following the success of this, Acemal recognized the potential of this market and, convinced of the expertise of its teams, it began to focus on this sector.
This small company was purchased by Pierre de Longrée in 1996, later joined by his brother, Marc de Longrée. With investments in computers and electronics to modernize Acemal, it was equipped with highly sophisticated tools for the design of its products. Today we export our equipment and waffle ovens to many countries around the world and we are now proudly the World #1 in the international market in this sector.
